Cathedral Family Faith Formation

Family Faith Formation will include teaching materials and support for children in grades 1-8 along with Sacramental Formation for Reconciliation, Confirmation and First Eucharist.

Grades 1-8 will use Pflaum Gospel Weeklies which has lessons based on the scripture readings of each week.

Children in grade 2 will also be in formation to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation and will have Together in Jesus- First Reconciliation lessons.

Children in grade 3 will be in formation to celebrate the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion and will have Together in Jesus- Confirmation First Eucharist lessons.

All lessons will have both paper and digital versions.  Lessons will be taught at home from October - December 2020. Plans for January - May will be determined in December.

20 Minute Catechesis is new and will happen after the 8:30 Mass on the first and third Sundays of October, November and December.  Families can attend 8:30 Mass, stay in their seats (socially distanced) and there will be a 20 minute formation session beginning 5 minutes after Mass. (approximately 9:35-9:55).  The session will be geared toward families, and anyone in the parish is welcome to attend. The theme for this year is The Domestic Church.  The sessions will be taught be catechists, clergy or other guest speakers. The sessions will be livestreamed on the parish website, and recorded so that people who can’t attend the session, can access it later on the parish website.

Please call the rectory office for registration information and schedules.
