It's been quite a day here at the Cathedral--and there's still one more Mass to celebrate! It's been wonderful to have an ever-growing community at the Cathedral. As more and more people come to the Cathedral, we have such a wonderful opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus with others. I watched the servers at the Masses today and realized how committed they are to their ministry. The same is true for all of our ministers. Time after time I'm moved by the commitment of the people here to the Lord and to this Church. The more I look out among our people gathered together, the more I realize that this is a community that is really seeking the Lord. Together we journey through this life and find support from one another and are built up as the Body of Christ. Our visitors see this and experience it in our community. Even today, several visitors remarked that there is something special here--and I believe that "special"-ness is found in a community that recognizes the presence of the Risen Lord in one another. How blessed can we possibly be? Another great expression of the work of the Cathedral took place in a recital by Mary Copely today. As a student organist, Mary "wowed" us all with her giftedness--bringing the richness of organ repertoire to all of us. We are grateful to Mary for sharing such a wonderful gift with us. Life is good here--thanks be to God!
