Deacon Robert R. Potvin was ordained a permanent deacon for the Diocese of Manchester on April 27, 2002 by the Most Reverend John B. McCormack at Saint Joseph Cathedral, Manchester.

He has been married to Elaine (Paré) since 1965 and is the father of two children  Michael Potvin and Christine Potvin Shea and is a grandfather of five.

Deacon Potvin received an Associates Degree in Electronics from NH Technical Institute, a BA in Business Management from Notre Dame College and a Masters in Theology, also from Notre Dame College, Manchester.

For thirty years, Deacon Potvin worked as a Systems Engineer for IBM and served as a Data Processing Consultant for another ten years. He is now exercising diaconal ministry at Saint Joseph Cathedral in Manchester. where he serves as Outreach Coordinator.
