As the Cathedral, the Mother Church and Teacher of the Diocese of Manchester, through love and servant leadership, we witness to the presence of Jesus Christ and the truth of His Gospel of peace and justice. Our parish family seeks to be a welcoming and spiritually enriching sign of the Kingdom of God in the world.

Like Christ, we are called to proclaim and establish the Kingdom of God:

• By word through preaching and catechesis, drawing all generations of faith into "communion and intimacy with Jesus Christ" (General Directory for Catechesis, #80);
• By worship that gives thanks and praise to God, seeking excellence in liturgy, especially in the Eucharist, and also in the other sacraments and in our general prayer life;
• By being a community of compassion, forgiveness and healing, permeated with God’s saving presence;
• By providing service to those in need, both within and beyond our community.
